Classics Steele Loved

In the spring of 1999, I began a special project, one that would take me beyond where I wanted to go. I began sculpting the Mad Hatter from a picture sent via email from another artist. I worked on the head off and on most of the summer. It was November when I got to a point that I needed a better picture. I set out in search of one of the original publications of Alice in Wonderland. On Thanksgiving day, I was high bidder on a vintage copy printed in 1898. That one book lead to another and then another and then many more. As a result, Classics Steele Loved series was created. Most are based on the "original" children's books, other are just my own interpretation.
