A Journey Fueled by Curiosity

As a kid in Georgia, Matt spent a lot of time doodling airplanes and robots--and trying to avoid getting into trouble for it. As an adult in Los Angeles, he spends a lot of time creating things that bring joy to people all over the world.

Over the years, new tools were continually added to the arsenal: a crayon at age 3, drumsticks at 6, a camera at 11, a wrench at 14, a Wacom stylus at 17, a racing helmet at 25.

That restless curiosity has led to a life that keeps Matt in a flow state of creativity and movement: He's an artist, designer, builder, tinkerer, and learner. He earned a degree in design, became a licensed Porsche cup racing driver and instructor, and spent the last two decades working in the animation industry. He's traveled around the country playing music, raced alongside motorsport legends, photographed the world, and helped bring to life fan-favorite films like How To Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda, Wreck-it Ralph and Academy Award winners Frozen, Big Hero 6, and Zootopia.

Today, Matt brings the sum of his creative pursuits to Steele Originals.
